THE PRESS ON Object Constant
"Sensual dance on marbles (...) A touching, challenging and not least an impressive dance performance, guaranteed to leave a trace (...) At times so dramatic that you can sense the nerves between  the dancer's muscles.
Fredrikstad Blad

(6/6)"...phenomenal sequences with lifts which make the stomach tickle. Fragile solos, daring interaction with potentially dangerous scenographic elements and leaps creates a new chapter in the gravity theory (...) run to the box office. Run, I said! "
NATT&DAG

"Carte Blanche's new production, choreographed by Portuguese Rui Horta, is fast and smooth, powerful in the expression, strongly danced by the company's athletic dancers (...) "Object Constant"  is driven forward by a compelling restlessness, of rudeness and aggression, which is also reflected by the intense duels which take place between the men and women on stage."
Dagbladet

"Rui Horta is the man of the theater. He uses the light almost surgical, and he alternates between the physical outbursts with a volcano's eruptive force, then in the next moment produces moments of poetic pearls. (...) Jennifer Dubreuil Houthemann dances a beautiful solo in the opening of the second act (...) The dancers hold nothing back. They throw themselves into the musical cascades and poetic moments."
VG

"A dictatorial commentator, played by Yaniv Cohen, provokes the dancers as well as the audience (...) Object Constant manipulates it’s audience to notice, the same way as it is said to have influenced a whole generation of dancers and choreographers in decades. The first Norwegian restaging of "Object Constant" is well done and worth seeing."
Bergens Tidende

"The tiniest moment of relations between the persons on stage gets interrupted quite brutally, the tiniest moment of beauty is fleeting. The exception is a beautiful solo by Jennifer Dubreuil Houthemann, where she first appears insulted and humiliated, and then goes through stages of purification up to the proud liberation (...) The interaction between Horta's choreography and lighting, and Koen Brandt's music is exquisite. Brandt controls a range of style and form, from explosive sound wall s and almost silent electronic earth sounds to simple instrumental solos, a violin string vibrates, the universe sings. The dance and music complements each other all the time, either synchronously or to counterpoint, and provides a strong sense of wholeness, supported by just as consciously lighting."
Aftenposten

"It stings, and at times it is delightfully socially critical. Edhem Jesenkovic impresses in the closing sequence, as well as Timothy Bartlett's young and free dance style."
Kulturspeilet

"The dance performance "Object Constant" is danced with a such precision and intensity that it takes us into a reality that is both casual and dreamlike (...) On stage we see it all in a fantastic lighting and a pretty real reality where the dancers interact with the audience through direct speech , instruments, singing, and with their own bodies."
Stavanger Aftenblad

"What we experienced was a dance company, which with creativity, good technique, enthusiasm, virtuosity, audacity and spirituality, sensitivity and empathy kept it going for almost two hours (...) For me, the highlight was the "host", brilliantly performed by Ole Martin Meland who managed to keep the attention verbally, even before it started, in a clear diction and understandable language, but also plunged into the most mind-blowing dance variations, and that he verbally kept the heat, and drove his co-dancers on stage - and the audience, so the pace sometimes was frighteningly high. It's great to see such a masterly capacity in the dance world. A positive experience which will not be forgotten in a very long time. Bravo!"
