MAD by Arco Renz gluck
Carte Blanche delivers a dynamc yet poetic and deeply haunting program and an exiting dance experience about the essence of the soul and about madness.
World premiere: 27th Mai 2010 in Studio Bergen, as part of the festival programme at Bergen International Festival.
MAD
Choreography Arco Renz
MAD physically thematises folly, or madness.
In this new production, Renz examines madness
as an intense physical state inflicted on a group,
reducing it to a collection of ‘hyper-individuals’
who increasingly transgress against established
norms and standards. Here, madness becomes the antagonist of normality, challenging the authority of established norms or standards over individuals and their bodies.
