Open audition

Carte Blanche's anuual audition 29th and 30th January 2011.
A short update on 31st January:

The Carte Blanche's annual open audition, which took place in Studio Bergen this weekend, 29th and 30th January 2011, was visited by 170 dancers. These represented no less than 28 nationalities.

On day two, the numbers were down to 16 lucky and talented dancers, representing Britain, Holland, Sweden, USA, Finland, Spain, France, China and Norway. Artistic and General Director Bruno Heynderickx says in a comment that the quality of the dancers were very high.

To whom the two contracts available at Carte Blanche will be offered to will be published in mid-February.

Update 27th Januray:

Carte Blanche's annual audition takes place in Studio Bergen on Saturday 29th and 30th January 2011. No less than 505 applicants have sent their CV to the company.

Statistics
505 applicants in total, where 71 % female and 29 % men, coming from 49 different counties all over the world.

The share of Norwegian applicants counts 79 dancers, or 16 % with, with a ratio of  80/20, 63 women and 16 men.  The share of Nordic applicants, from Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland, excluding Norway is 9% . Including Norwegian dancers they amount to 25 %. The largest group outside the Norwegians are from Italy.

We are expecting some 200 - 300 dancers to appear at Studio Bergen at 09:00AM Saturday morning and we are excited about meeting all of them.
