Imre Van Opstal

Apprentice at Carte Blanche from August 2011

Imre van Opstal  was born in 1989 and raised in a small town Venlo, in the south of Holland.
Here she started  full dance training in high school. She then got the opportunity to be one of the dancers for an foreigh exchange programme and trained at Escuela Nacional de Danza Moderna y Folklorica in Havana, Cuba.

She recently graduated and obtained a bachelor degree,  specializing in dance, from Codarts, the university for arts  in Rotterdam.
In 2009 - 2010 she started dancing in a project for the dance company Conny Janssen Danst, as an apprentice, together with nine fellow students from school as Rotterdam being the European Youth Capital. She was then asked to do an location project with the company on a rooftop.

In 2010-2011 she danced for Dansgroep Amsterdam under the artistic direction of Itzik Galili and Krisztina de Châtel.

Imre Van Opstal was one of 160 people who came for the audition in January, and the one of three selected for apprentice ship. She says she is very excited to work with the Company's strong dancers, and is employed at Carte Blanche from August 2011.
